Jordan King is a freelance choreographer in Seattle, with a primary focus on choreography for theatre.

His philosophy of choreography comes from the interconnection between music, lyrics, story, and body. His choreographic intention strives to tell the story while showcasing how the music can be represented in the body and in reflection how the body can emphasize the music and texture, both in complimentary and contrasting ways.

When choreographing in Educational Settings, Jordan believes that the foundation of kinetic learning can be broken down and taught to a wide range of experience and technical ability leading to an improved sense of kinetic self-understanding and thinking at any level—with the eventual purpose of marrying these levels into a cohesive project.

Previous projects include Urinetown with Ballyhoo TheatreLegally Blonde and Disney's Newsies with Ingraham High School, and Heathers with University of Washington's Undergraduate Theatre Society. He also worked as the Assistant Choreographer for 9 to 5: the Musical at Showtunes Theatre Company with choreographer by Pamela Turpen and director Kelly Kitchens. Before the production was cancelled from COVID, he was working as the Associate Choreographer for Cabaret at the University of Washington School of Drama with choreographer Kathryn van Meter and director Tim Bond. He also would aid in choreographing in college a variety of projects ranging from the Dance Department to student organizations.
